Lauren Anderson

Lauren graduated with her Master of Social Work from Northern Michigan University in May 2024, and graduated from Northern in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in exercise science. Combining her experience and knowledge, Lauren is committed to walking side by side with her clients on a journey toward healing and personal growth. 

Lauren brings evidence-based practices with her foundation rooted in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) informed approaches. During her internship, Lauren received training in the Family Systems Theory (FST) and understands the interconnected roles within families and how they shape who we are. In addition, Lauren recognizes each person is an expert within their own lives and utilizes Motivational Interviewing to empower and guide her clients toward positive change. Lauren guides her practice with a trauma-informed care approach to create a healing, predictable, and safe environment. 

During her internship, Lauren enjoyed working with adolescents, families, and groups and has a passion for working with individuals navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, and attachment injury.

Beyond providing therapy, Lauren finds solace and connection to others with the great outdoors whether it is dirt biking with her husband, mountain biking, spending time with her horse, or just hitting the trails for a run. With a passion for both mental wellness and outdoor adventure, Lauren embraces life’s challenges with courage, compassion, and commitment to growth.
